Weiping Lin is an Assistant Concertmaster (Stimmführerin 1. Violinen) of the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna (RSO-Wien).

She is a well-respected violinist for contemporary music in Austria. Both as a soloist - she recorded the entire works for solo violin by Giacinto Scelsi for Mode Records (Scelsi Edition 10), as well as a chamber musician in different ensembles such as ensemble modern, ensemble xx. jahrhundert, die reihe, ensemble EIS, ensemble phace and Zur Eisernen Zeit , performing throughout Europe, Asia and South America, premiering new works by Luna Alcalay, Christoph Herndler, Volkmar Klien, Rodrigo Sigal, João Oliveira, Violeta Dinescu and Ming Wang - some of them dedicated to her.

Weiping Lin won prizes at several international violin competitions. From her native country Taiwan, she moved to Austria at the age of 15 to continue her music studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna with Josef Sivo and Dora Schwarzberg, as well as in Graz with Yair Kless.

Recently, Weiping Lin has recorded the six Solosonatas and Partitas by J.S. Bach (BWV 1001-1006). She is currently working on a (first-)recording of several solo- and chamber music compositions by the Austrian composer Luna Alcalay (1928-2012) as well as preparing an album including new works written for violin and electronics by Sounth American composers.
